Where Creativity Meets Inspiration
Here are some other interesting cultivars of the lovely Pennisetum alopecuroides (Fountain Grass) to consider:
Fountain Grass. Clumps of cascading green leaves, flowers are buff to rose-colored feathery spikes, followed by fuzzy bottlebrush seed-heads, foliage bright almond in winter
Hamelyn Dwarf Fountain Grass. Forms slightly smaller clumps than the species, spikes are silvery-white, foliage turns bright almond, flowers best in hot & sunny location.
Little Bunny Fountain Grass. Quite dwarf in habit, creamy plumes are small but there are lots of them, dead-head in late fall to prevent seedlings.
Black Flowered Fountain Grass. Soft bottlebrush spikes of deep black-purple, wide-leaved selection, dead-heading in late fall recommended.
Piglet Fountain Grass. The perfect size fountain grass, measures in at about half the size of 'Hameln' and about 15cm taller than 'Little Bunny'.
Red Head Fountain Grass.
Karley Rose Fountain Grass. Dark green foliage with large soft pink bottle brush shaped flowers, can be used as a specimen or mass planting
