Where Creativity Meets Inspiration
Here are some other interesting cultivars and hybrids of Forsythia sp.(Forsythia) to consider:
F. courtasol ‘Gold Tide’
Gold Tide Forsythia. Use as ground cover or for mass planting. Not tolerant of dry spells. Prune when young for full body. Lemon yellow flowers in spring. Purple fall colour.
F. ovata ‘Northern Gold’
Northern Gold Forsythia. Upright growing shrub with gray-yellow branches. A hardy strain that has flowered in Morden, Manitoba.
x ‘Arnold Dwarf’
Arnold Dwarf Forsythia. A low spreading shrub useful as a groundcover. Flowers seldom produced by this selection.
x ‘Show Off’
Show Off Forsythia. Not your typical forsythia variety. It is compact and full of blooms from the ground to the ends of every stem. No need to prune as it will stay small.
x ‘Show Off Starlet’
Show Off Starlet Forsythia. Starlet is a bright ball of yellow flowers in spring! It has the same fabulous flower display you get with Show Off forsythia, but in a smaller package. Deer resistant.
